Where did you go to college?
I graduated from Arizona State.
How long have you been with the Spurs?
Eight years.
What do you do on a day-to-day basis with the Spurs?
I am responsible for all the Human Resources needs of the staff, i.e., hiring, benefits, office Management, counseling, training.
What is your favorite part of working for a professional basketball team?
The high energy pace and extreme talent of the staff.
Besides winning, what do you like most about attending the games?
Seeing friends, making new friends, and watching the fans participate.
How did you get into this line of work?
I started working for a bank while in school, and was gradually promoted to the training and Human Resources area. I believe I have a particular talent for helping develop good teams.
Who is your favorite performer?
Smokey Robinson, the Motown singer, because he is able to bring all ages and classes of people together to enjoy his music.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to hike & snow ski in the high mountains, and fly fish when time allows. Here in San Antonio, I like to go to concerts and theater events, or join friends for get-togethers.
What is your favorite city in the world?
Phoenix, Arizona, my hometown growing up and where my family lives.
What is your favorite food?
Chinese food of any kind.
The last book you read?
I just finished the Left Behind series - all eight books in a row!
The last movie you saw?
"Pearl Harbor"
What was your first car?
A 1972 Camero - blue with a white top. It was old, but I loved it.
What was your favorite subject in high school?
Any kind of sports, physical education or art classes.
Did you play any sports when you were growing up?
Anything you can think of. I went to college on a physical education scholarship and placed first in state in badminton.
What was your favorite TV show as a kid?
It was a local children's show called "Wallace and Ladmo."
What person, dead or alive, would you like to meet?
Mother Teresa. I would love to understand the source for her great works and sacrifice. I would also like to have a private concert from Sting.
Do you have any personal heroes, and if so, who and why?
My mother is my personal hero. She raised five girls alone and helped us all learn that we could accomplish anything we wanted with diligence, commitment, and honest work. She is a great role model and as a nurse, she always helped anyone that needed it and taught us to do the same.
How would you best describe yourself?
I am outgoing, sometimes too serious, very career driven, and passionate about my job. I enjoy dedicated and rewarding friendships and family relationships that are the foundation of my well-being. I believe in continued personal and educational growth and try to encourage that philosophy in others.
